Within the documents that we consulted for the VECEA region, riverine thicket was only described for Uganda. In this country, riverine thickets and riverine mixed thicket and woodland vegetation types occur as natural climax communities on the banks of seasonal rivers in east and central Karamoja. In the VECEA map, we mapped this vegetation type together with riverine forests (fr) and woodlands (wr) as "riverine wooded vegetation" ( R ).
